How trip cost is calculated

Trip distance (doubled automatically for a round trip) is divided by your vehicle's fuel or electric efficiency to estimate the fuel/energy required, then multiplied by the fuel or electricity price — either estimated from current market data or a price you enter yourself. Any tolls or parking you add are always your own entry, never estimated. If you provide a passenger count, the total is also divided evenly per passenger.

This is an estimate of the trip's direct travel cost only — it does not include food, accommodation, or other travel expenses, and it is never combined with your vehicle's monthly/annual ownership cost.
